Not the point, given the large collection of data now the idea of micro-evolution leading to macro-evolution appears an elementary idea. Its a progression who's imagery just too elegant, simple with metaphors applying so easily to our innate common sense. The only sensible way to join it to the religious sense is to reason each one of us is a resulting composite of that 3.8Bil yrs of this. It would tend to make you think to cherish what you've got & explore it as fully as possible, participate in.

You yourself are reasoning here everyday for this 'design' which is the most overt admission of evolution being true.

There is no 'afterlife', all things discorporate, unless you mean in the sense of being remembered on by those that live. It is an intriguing & controversial subject which should be discussed & philosophers have given much thought.

Did you have a 'before life' in all of this, waiting to be born?
