In the SPX the paper represent more or less productive investment that employ people that make "widgets" or deliver services in most cases for some kind of profit. Same with commodities people work the land or extract the ore there is investments to do so and process it to enable their use. Clinton administration made sure that the rate of inflation is underreported so that corporate and government liabilities will diminish with time. This is the reason that poverty increases and middle class is not as affluent as it once was. The CB's made sure that those that dictate to themselves their compensation will enrich themselves beyond any imagination on the expense of the middle class CB's with all their good intention are practicing financial market manipulation across the spectrum, that to best of my recollection is highly criminal.
