I should kick myself for using common English in these discussions. I use it to try and avoid the multi-thousand word posts, I know I don't read them. Megafauna just means "BIG ANIMALS". There are other reasons for animals to be big besides cold.

It so happened that it was primarily the BIG animals which were selected for extinction in the interglacial. Most people are able to see at least something of the context in the writing and realize I was not discussing every BIG animal in the world, but only those which were under discussion.

For all practical purposes there is and was no "ice age" near the equator in the last few million years so none of the "ice age" discussion applies.
