Jim, thanks again for your thoughts. If you care to comment, I am curious as to how well you see standard technical indicators working during this weird Asia-related gyration. As I said, I don't know much about TA, but SMTC, for instance, looked pretty good on the charts to me one week ago at 50.5, having sustained a support level several times. Today it's at 38 and change. Then there's UTR, which also (as you noted not long ago) showed reasonably good support at 17, then broke it, presumedly in sympathy with other tech casualties. Many others (QLGC comes to mind) seem to have hit this pattern recently.

Maybe it's just as simple as TA being overwhelmed in the face of massive uncertainty over fundamentals.

UTR near bottom I hope, bought back in today, brave probably not intelligent, but 16 3/4 was as cheap as my internet broker would give me, the turkey, and it went lower!?
