Plans Set to Open 50 Tubby's Over Next 5 Years in Texas

STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich., Jan. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Michigan-based Tubby's, Inc., (Nasdaq: TUBY -
news), a specialty sandwich chain featuring grilled submarines, announced today its expansion plans that
call for the opening of 50 stores over the next 5 years in Texas.

For an undisclosed amount, Tubby's Sub Shops, Inc. (''Tubby's''), along with Development Agent Fred
Conner, signed 2 Development Agent Agreements with All Star Foods, Inc., a Texas corporation.

All Star Foods, Inc. plans to open 40 stores in the greater Houston area with the first 6 to be opened by
November 30, 1998, and also intends to open 10 stores in the Corpus Christi area with the first 2 to be
opened by November 30, 1998.

All Star Foods, Inc. is expanding their petroleum units with Tubby's non- traditional locations inside their
service stations. Robert Paganes, Tubby's President and CEO said, ''Our 1997 Business Plan was to
expand into the non- traditional market. By signing these Agreements, we are fulfilling our Company
Goals.''

Established in 1968, Tubby's has 88 Sub Shops located in Michigan, Ohio, Arizona, Pennsylvania, and
Alberta and Windsor, Canada.
