Arun and Skip, this sounds like the Ron Brown Memorial Program. I also think you are seeing what a politically connected industry, GPS, can do with a sympathetic administration -- help build a new market. This is an Al Gore type issue, and he and Charlie Trimble are apparently on a first name basis.

Speaking of political connections, Trimble just hired a lobbying firm, Conkling Fiskum & McCormick, to work on a legislative extension of federal tax credits for R&D.

PS -- DATM touched an intraday low of $12 today, a new yearly low (down from a high of $49.50 a few months ago). Competitors FEI and TRMB are doing well. Something more than a timing device market "overreaction" is going on here, we just don't have the specifics yet.
