Will, many thanks for posting the CRN URL. It was interesting. Did you read the Seagate article? The author waxes eloquent about Seagate's dominance in the high end stating that Seagate thrashed the nearest competitors by 2 to 1 in mrkt share. However, I understood that the current problems in the HDD market were preciptated by wars in the high end. I realize Seagate was almost alone for a while in that market. But now they are closing plants. Do you think Seagate really expected to be alone in that segment forever with Maxtor, Fujitsu, Quantum, and W-D all gunning for the same business? I suspect not, so why the surprises if , in fact, they held that much of the high end market. What am I missing?
Regards,
Stitch
