Monseigneur Georges Henri Joseph Édouard Lemaître, (French: [????? l?m?t?] ( listen); 17 July 1894 – 20 June 1966) was a Belgian priest, astronomer and professor of physics at the French section of the Catholic University of Leuven. [1] He was the first known academic to propose the theory of the expansion of the universe, widely misattributed to Edwin Hubble. [2] [3] He was also the first to derive what is now known as Hubble's law and made the first estimation of what is now called the Hubble constant, which he published in 1927, two years before Hubble's article. [4] [5] [6] [7] Lemaître also proposed what became known as the Big Bang theory of the origin of the Universe, which he called his "hypothesis of the primeval atom" or the "Cosmic Egg". [8]

“If you're an atheist, you know, you believe, this is the only life you're going to get. It's a precious life. It's a beautiful life. Its something we should live to the full, to the end of our days. Where if you're religious and you believe in another life somehow, that means you don't live this life to the full because you think you're going to get another one. That's an awfully negative way to live a life. Being a atheist frees you up to live this life properly, happily and fully”

Richard Dawkins

“The take-home message is that we should blame religion itself, not religious extremism - as though that were some kind of terrible perversion of real, decent religion. Voltaire got it right long ago: 'Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.' So did Bertrand Russell: 'Many people would sooner die than think. In fact they do.”

Richard Dawkins, The God Delusion

“It is absolutely safe to say that if you meet somebody who claims not to believe in evolution, that person is ignorant, stupid or insane (or wicked, but I'd rather not consider that).”

Richard Dawkins

Cultivated and civilized?? Or are these following quotes wiser and more refined and true?? Which of these people is likely to believe that human sacrifice (Hi, Jesus!) is a great way of tribal atonement--of becoming ritualistically clean and free of "sin"??? Which of these people might drown their children and act with a primitive, psychotic savagery and an utter contempt for human life??

By the way, the following words are written by somebody named Yahweh through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. And the following words depict exactly and PRECISELY what Yahweh wants us to know.

"Behold the day of the Lord comes, cruel, with wrath and fierce anger...Whoever is found will be thrust through and whoever is caught will fall by the sword. Their infants will be dashed in pieces before their eyes, their houses will be plundered and their wives ravished."

Isaiah 13:9, 13:15

"Therefore fathers shall eat their sons in the midst of you and sons shall eat their fathers...I will send famine and wild beasts against you and they shall rob you of your children; pestilence and blood shall pass through you; and I will bring a sword upon you. I, the Lord, have spoken."

Ezekiel 5:10, 5:17

"If the tokens of virginity were not found in the young woman, then you shall bring out the young woman to the door of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her to death with stones..."

Deuteronomy 22:20

"For the wife does not rule over her own body, but the husband does..."

1 Corinthians 7:4
