Thump9: Tech's info. appears on Bloomberg as well, with the same inaccurate symbol but correct description for ALYD. I would assume they made one error (the ticker symbol) as opposed to two (naming and describing Alydaar), but hopefully they will post a corrected version so we don't have to guess.

I remember a while back ALYD made this press release:

---------------------------------------------------------------------
PR Newswire, Wednesday, June 25, 1997 at 12:53

CHARLOTTE, N.C., June 25 /PRNewswire/ -- 3M (NYSE:MMM) has awarded Alydaar Software Corporation (OTC-Bulletin Board: ALYD) a Year 2000 services contract. The contract calls for Alydaar to provide Year 2000 remediation services utilizing its SmartCode(TM) reengineering technology on various software languages and platforms.

The Year 2000 problem arises from computer programs written in the 1970s and 1980s that read only the last two digits in a year. The 00 reading for 2000 would cause an error in some programs or could be interpreted as 1900. The estimated world-wide market to repair the Year 2000 problem is estimated to be in excess of $600 billion.

Robert Gruder, Alydaar's CEO, stated, "I have already enjoyed working with 3M's Year 2000 team. They have a strong knowledge of year 2000 issues and their excellent project management skills blend well with Alydaar's Year 2000 remediation offerings. I look forward to a strong relationship with 3M and assisting them with their Year 2000 effort."
Mary Cripe, 3M's Year 2000 Project Manager, noted, "We reviewed the
SmartCode technology and the management team at Alydaar and found them to be complementary to 3M's Year 2000 philosophy. We believe our Year 2000 partnership with Alydaar will provide a timely and efficient process to resolve 3M's Year 2000 issues."

Alydaar Software Corporation is a software reengineering company,
specializing in providing services to resolve the Year 2000 problem, as well as computer language translation and systems migration services. Using SmartCode(TM), their core reengineering technology, Alydaar can automatically correct millions of lines of code per month at their Charlotte, North Carolina, code remediation factory. Alydaar has offices throughout North America and Europe.

3M manufactures and sells over 50,000 products ranging from pressure-
sensitive tapes, adhesives, and specialty chemicals to medical devices, reflective materials, and major automotive supplies.

Does anyone know which of 3M's facilities the ALYD project was ?

Does 3M have more than one facility in North Carolina, and if they don't, why would 3M go out of the loop and work with another company when they already are using ALYD, and ALYD is based in North Carolina?
