Technically it's clearly an NT killer but what's really going to strangle NT are killer applications such as IBM's $49 eSuite. Solaris on Merced should easily slaughter NT in several key markets but let's not forget the bludgeoning power of low-cost, Intel-based NCs either.

what kind of PE do u think sunw could fetch if people start seeing the company as a sw company ? in mid 99. i m already looking at 99 erning and thining hum..

u know when ibm was in dump last yr it was at 9 pe today its at 18pe.

ibm has lots of sw and sw srv business. i wonder if sunw pe
could be would be viewed differently as ernin estimates change.
