I certainly agree about the electronic utility of gold. If the price per oz. were lower yet Au could still be produced economically, there would be a lot of new applications.

I think gold has been sold off in huge amounts by central banks before, maybe 18 or 20 years ago. If the dollar and US notes get shaky, the rush back to precious metals will be astounding. Anybody got total faith in the eternal stability of the dollar?
