you've assumed there was natural nylon before humans created it.

Humans are much more likely to discover something than to create it.

Polymers were made from tree bark in the 19th century. I think the only thing special about nylon is that it was produced from oil which was a much more uniform raw material and made a more uniform final product.

Every butterfly produces a polymer for it's chrysalis which is similar enough to have promoted bacteria which would produce enzymes to try and break it down. The framework to breakdown nylon has been in the works for millions of years. Ditto spiders, silk worms, and any plant that makes starch.
