REPORT: President Didn't Watch St. Louis County Prosecutor's Announcement...
..........................................................................................................................................

CBS News reports that Obama did not watch St. Louis County Prosecutor Bob McCulloch’s announcement, but his aides did and briefed him. It was the fifth time Obama addressed Brown’s death.

In a late-night statement from the White House, Obama said it was understandable that some Americans would be “deeply disappointed — even angered” that police officer Darren Wilson wasn’t indicted. Yet he echoed Brown’s parents in calling for any protests to be peaceful, saying that their wishes should be honored as they grieve their son.

At the same time, Obama sought to dispel the notion that race relations have deteriorated, the protests in Ferguson notwithstanding. He called for Americans to turn their attention to ways to bring police and their communities closer together.

“That won’t be done by throwing bottles. That won’t be done by smashing car windows. That won’t be done by using this as an excuse to vandalize property,” Obama said. “It certainly won’t be done by hurting anybody.”

Yet the scene playing out in suburban Missouri, just minutes after the grand jury’s announcement, stood in stark contrast to Obama’s calls for calm. As Obama spoke live from the White House briefing room, television networks showed Obama on one side of the screen, and violent demonstrations in Ferguson on the other.

More than 80 people were arrested in Ferguson and St. Louis.

“This is not just an issue for Ferguson, this is an issue for America,” Obama said. “There are still problems, and communities of color aren’t just making this up.”

The Justice Department is conducting a separate investigation into possible civil rights violations that could result in federal charges. Attorney General Eric Holder called Brown’s death a “tragedy” and said federal investigators were taking pains not to jump to conclusions.

“While constructive efforts are under way in Ferguson and communities nationwide, far more must be done to create enduring trust,” Holder said.

The uproar sparked by Brown’s death has challenged Obama to find constructive, measured ways to address the deep racial tensions exposed by the incident without alienating law enforcement or casting undue blame amid ongoing investigations.

In 2012, Obama spoke passionately after the death of teenager Trayvon Martin, telling the public that “if I had a son, he’d look like Trayvon.”

Too bad, lady, the Gentle Giant's stepdad said to "burn this bitch down."

Brown's step father, Louis Head, jumped up and down in rage, screaming: 'Burn this b**** down! Burn this b**** down!'

Karma: #Ferguson Palestinian Agitator Bassem Masri Has His Smartphone Stolen By Thug

He was livestreaming the action when the thug struck and you can see the stream continues as the thug runs away with the phone.

‘Police agitator’, translation: someone who cares less about Bassem’s revolution and more about stealing Bassem’s phone…

It was the same way with the other live streamers. All the violence was done by undercover cops. To hear them tell it, you'd think there were a half dozen non-violent protesters standing by while 10,000 cops burned down Ferguson.

To My Muggers – I Forgive You, I Deserved It, I’m Sorry About My Privilegeby BFH

Look at this d-bag. He was mugged near Georgetown at gunpoint, forced to lay on the ground as his pants were rifled through, and he says he deserved it.

Here are some tasty d-bag morsels from his essay -

What has been most startling to me, even more so than the incident itself, have been the reactions I’ve gotten. I kept hearing “thugs,” “criminals” and “bad people.” While I understand why one might jump to that conclusion, I don’t think this is fair.

It's not fair to call a person who commits a crime a criminal?

Not once did I consider our attackers to be “bad people.” I trust that they weren’t trying to hurt me. In fact, if they knew me, I bet they’d think I was okay. They wanted my stuff, not me.

You trust that, huh? I will bet you "your stuff" you don't trust law-abiding citizens to own guns for self-protection.

When I struggled in school, I had parents who willingly sat down with me and helped me work through it. When I have a problem, I have countless people who I can turn to for solid advice.

Who was the person who read your essay and gave it the big thumbs up? That wasn't solid advice.

By the way, every person in America is entitled to access to schools which purportedly have, the unions assure us this is so, professional counselors that are there to give solid advice. We already pay these muggers for this privilege, lots. You'll see, youngster, when you begin to pay school taxes.

When I walk around at 2 a.m., nobody looks at me suspiciously, and police don’t ask me any questions. I wonder if our attackers could say the same.

And the police would be correct, wouldn't they, Sparkles?

Who am I to stand from my perch of privilege, surrounded by million-dollar homes and paying for a $60,000 education, to condemn these young men as “thugs?” It’s precisely this kind of “otherization” that fuels the problem.

So that's the problem, that million-dollar homes exist and high cost education. Well then, let's abolish these things.

I’ve never had to decide whether or not to steal from people. We’re all capable of good and bad, but it’s a whole lot easier for me to choose good than it may be for them to.

Poverty is not an excuse to hold a gun to someone's head, nor is wealth or privilege.

We have a lot, and plenty of opportunities to make even more. They have very little, and few opportunities to make ends meet.

"We"? Are you involving others in your manifesto? Are you nuts?

...we should get comfortable with sporadic muggings and break-ins. I can hardly blame them.

"We"? Are you nuts?

Get comfortable? This sounds an awful lot like telling a woman to get comfortable with their rape.

Texas approves textbooks with Moses as Founding Father

November 21, 2014 by Michael Stone 1529 Comments

Christian conservatives win, children lose: Texas textbooks will teach public school students that the Founding Fathers based the Constitution on the Bible, and the American system of democracy was inspired by Moses.

On Friday the Republican-controlled Texas State Board of Education voted along party lines 10-5 to approve the biased and inaccurate textbooks. The vote signals a victory for Christian conservatives in Texas, and a disappointing defeat for historical accuracy and the education of innocent children.

The textbooks were written to align with instructional standards that the Board of Education approved back in 2010 with the explicit intention of forcing social studies teaching to adhere to a conservative Christian agenda. The standards require teachers to emphasize America’s so called “Christian heritage.”

In essence, Christian conservatives in Texas have successfully forced a false historical narrative into public school textbooks that portray Moses as an influence on the Constitution and the Old Testament as the root of democracy.

Critics called the whole process into question after publishers posted a number of last-minute changes to the textbooks yesterday, leaving board members and observers without time to figure out exactly what was in the approved texts.

According to reports, scholars did not have an opportunity to review and comment on the numerous changes publishers have submitted since the last public hearing. Some of those changes appeared to have been negotiated with state board members behind closed doors.

Michael Brown's stepfather at rally: 'Burn this bitch down!'

By Ray Sanchez, CNN November 25, 2014

STORY HIGHLIGHTS
  • A video captures Michael Brown's stepfather urging crowd to burn down Ferguson

  • Louis Head is heard saying, "Burn this motherf---er down" and "Burn this bitch down" before violence erupted

  • (CNN) -- Michael Brown's stepfather consoled the dead teen's distraught mother after Monday's controversial grand jury announcement and then turned to the crowd of demonstrators, saying, "Burn this motherf---er down" and "Burn this bitch down," according to a New York Times video.

The comments by Brown's stepfather, Louis Head, came shortly before an eruption of rage by some protesters over the decision not to indict police Officer Darren Wilson in the August shooting death of 18-year-old Brown in Ferguson, Missouri.

A row of businesses on West Florissant Avenue, a major thoroughfare in the St. Louis suburb, was engulfed in flames Monday night. Police cars and vehicles at a nearby dealership were turned into fireballs. There were so many blazes that firefighters couldn't reach every one.

CNN is trying to reach Head for comment.
