The video recording of events is certainly going to happen. No doubt we'll then hear of encounters in which cops tried to stop someone from video recording the encounter. I had one, about a year ago, coming out of the Brooklyn tunnel on my way to Park Slope in Brooklyn. Drove up to a toll booth. My EZPass didn't work. Out rolls a parkway cop, chip on shoulder, to accuse me of all sorts of sins. Made me angry and my more than anxious. We were headed to some sort of confrontation when another officer arrived, soothed the first one, pulled the EZPass module out of the car, waved it in front of the machine, which worked, and then suggested my module needing replacing, and sent us along our way. I wonder what would have happened early in that encounter had I told the first officer to wait a moment while I pulled out my cellphone to videotape our conversation.
