Jack: You are correct about Joe. He used to run ads saying that
85% of nyse stocks (I don't recall the real figs) where within 15%
of making new lows - or some such!!!! For those of you familiar
with the Sir Harry Schulz letter (not sure it's still around) - he really
flamed Joe some years back. Don

You're right. He had such a poor record for so long that people didn't notice when he got back on track. He no longer sees parabolas in his sleep. It occurred to him that stock splits flatten out parabolic curves, and now everything's A.O.K. Sounds New-Era-ish to me, but I don't tune him out because he is one of the fathers of TA.
