RE: Hang Seng Index will Include CHL and Shanhai Industries

This is definitely good news for CHL. In other words, CHL is now a blue chip in HK besids being a red chip. All the future buyers will buy CHL along with other major companies. Blue chip will always have a higher PE than less famous issues.

According to Reuters, CHL traded up HK $0.80 to HK$13.55 per share last night in Hong Hong. This is equivalent to $35 for U.S. ADR, without any effects of premium or discount.

Accompanied with share price rise was very heavy volume, 911 million shares changed hands while the whole HK market only traded 6,440 million shares. Whooo !

No wondr Goldman Sachs put CHL on their Asian Recommended List. But of course, CHL's future is depending on the healthiness of the HK stock market which might be on the rise, and more importantly over a long term, how the company execute their business and grab the tremendous growth opportunity in China.
