Obviously, they put the big holiday spank on oil, oil services and precious metals today in the short trading session when few were looking. This was the most action in quite some time. It looks like we're a long way from the "we're almost out of oil now" prophecies with prices like this... or maybe, we really are running out of oil, but have an abundance of manipulation? Monday should be interesting. OPEC v. shale industry, round 2. It's rumored that $60-a-barrel oil is the threshold for profitable shale production.

Some pols are already foaming at the mouth and talking about raising gasoline taxes in the wake of low oil prices. Who would have guessed?

Time to buy black gold and yellow gold?
