Don, The world has to eat and they have to drink. I think that POT (Potash) and USF (US filter) are good demographic buys

Buffett uses arbitrage situations and special situations
to gain increased returns on his cash awaiting re-investment.
It appears he used a lot of this cash to buy 10 year zeroes
back in July - a genius move in retrospect. It also means
he is not finding many long-term stock situations in the
current market. I too am currently holding a lot of cash, awaiting
further declines in the market as Asia impacts the earnings
of many techs, commodities, and multinationals over the next
2-3 quarters.

SGNC is an excellent long-term pick. It's a Biotech stock specializing in artificial blood. They are FDA approved and recently supported by Battelle institute for animal testing. Dr. Drees has been performing research on this product (PHER-O2) for decades and is on the brink of success. Read the thread, especialy post's made by chirodoc, profiteer, drdan, gwolf, and prospector. I really think you will like what you see. And all this for only .69 cents a share.
