Mike:
Have you investigated Richard Hewlett's design (MAXAM) to extract metals? I believe they also use the chlorine/boron leach, but then further extract the metals through a resin liquor/ion exchange or some such 'magic'.

Is his approach a radical approach, or is it somewhat similar to what you envision? It would seem that the system you envision is electrolysis whereas his is a chemical affinity? I'm groping here, because I am not certain how the resin liquor system operates.

If the Hewlett system is a radical approach, does it warrant investigation as a possible alternative to your electrowinning process?

Thanks,
Lee
