If the Swiss vote turned out "Yes", the SNB would have 5 years to buy 300 tonnes per year, which is very small, relative to the total above ground gold supply. Sure, due to SNB balance sheet expansion, the amount would end up being greater than 1500 tonnes.

I am not impressed with the rally in the junior gold miners (gdxj): they fell over 12% on a $23 pog drop on Friday and then not even rally 10% on a pog rise of close to $46. This was primarily short covering which is not sustainable short term. After the tax loss selling is over, yes, a nice intermediate term rally will result.
