That's true however America cannot avoid the low energy price dilemma.

If the world market is xyz price that's what oil companies in the US will be paid. So yes we don't need Saudi oil however the domestic companies still need to be profitable or they will die.
Domestic oil needs to be much higher or they will have to mothball operations.

They don't actually get much oil from Saudi Arabia. Most comes from Canada and Mexico. The Saudi's are the true swing producers and have the biggest effect on world prices.
