I don't think that Jaffo is claiming that Sarasota is definitely using NRI products. C.A. advertises single sign on with just passwords. However, the potential for certain applications of NRI fingerimaging within the Unicenter system by Sarasota is a clear posibility. They may be able to use it for punching in and certain other actions that need security. The uses will increase as the price comes down. If the Veridcom deal comes through, then the potential for inexepsive scanners really increases.
People are entitled to speculate. I don't see this as much more speculative than Sylvan or INS is on your thread.
There are many companies coming out of the woodwork in the biometric field. However, developing effective trustworthy software is costly and time consuming. Getting people to accept it is a long process. It is not something that an organization can leave to chance. NRI has planted many seeds. Next year may be harvest time.
Regards,
Sheldon

J. Saf:

Although possible, it it highly unlikely that the Sarasota deal will use something other than NRI/Ketronic scanner. I believe that you are correct that NRI s/w is not limited to NRI scanner. However, the CAI/NRI relationship appears solid as CAI has provided demonstration space in 9 of 10 showcases throughout the world for NRI technology. To use someone else scanner is highly improbable. But even if they did, it will still be NRI s/w at work.

I've stated before and I'll stated again, the market is notorious for over reacting. The current price is an over reaction of slower than expected sales, Encore's conversion, lack of funds, the Cogent algorithim problem, fears of reverse split, and now tax loss. From talking to a number of people, I am confident that these problems are under control and NRI may show what the market wants to see, i.e., strong sales in 1Q98. Of course, I've been wrong before.

Do I believe in the above and NRI? You bet, as I've increased my position last week. I've been to NRI, talked to its people, etc. What NRI has accomplished within the last 12 months (products and partnerships) is nothing short of phenomenal. The Market has not recognized it as yet but they soon will.
