Yes, the company had to deliver......I also wonder if there aren't some games being played? For example, could the creditor of the leveraged hedge fund counter party, short the energy company on the other side of the hedge before forcing the hedge fund counter party into bankruptcy? There could well be additional risk for small E&P's whose hedge position isn't well diversified.
