Maverick Re "Intel's Quick Web Technology uses several techniques, notably compression and caching, to speed up the downloading process."

My 2c:

1. Why shouldn't this apply at home too in the future? Every home has a server/cache that uses the home POTS phone during
the day to download all of a particular person's favorite sites - I believe there is software to do this now.?

Eventually download movies/music/concerts etc that would otherwise take too long.

2. I read another interesting titbit elsewhere - the margin for retailers
on sub-zero PCs is so low that most do not want to carry them.
Furthermore since a support call costs $25-$50, a sub-zero PC
has only a depot service warranty. So it is about time that
people realize that the sub-zero PC has its place and is not
the whole market.

Just IMHO

Then at home you can browse through the cached info at
full speed and only download changes over POTS (I guess
business's would use the phone during the night to download
all of their competitors sites?)

Maybe ADSL is not required with this - since most changes
day to day in a site are likely to be small (except SI of course)

Re Sun/Intel - good for Intel - another ally in its camp.
