Much has been mentioned on this thread about the catalysts used in the gas-to-liquid conversion process. Cobalt and Iron are the only two I've seen mentioned on the thread. While doing DD, I came across this site where another catalyst Rhubidium (Ru) is mentioned.

ct.utwente.nl

Anybody know anything about the pros and cons of Ru as a catalyst?

By the way, I have lots of other bookmarks. Problem is, I have to pull up the page, copy the address, back up, paste it into the submission, go get the next address and so on. I've never been able to get all my addresses copied because Netscape/W95 keeps crapping out on me. Anyone know how to copy and past a whole section of the Netscape Communicator V4 bookmarks file?

froland.

Joe and all, I just want to ask you :

1. Can Rentech GTL technology do coal to liquid conversion ??
if the answer yes, does its technology have economic value ?
(Just for information, my country has much coal resources, and has not used it yet as maximum/efficient as it can and if my memory serve, recently someone from the "energy departement PERTAMINA)" has interested in this technology (bad news they have already known about SASOL and have not known about Rentech yet).

2. Can Rentech make any other agreements with other company while
they are waiting for JV agreement with TX ?

If the answer for the question no.2 is yes, I think Rentech must do more aggresive promotion (before other big company like SASOL, WMB etc take more chances in current GTL issue /era)

If the answer no , then i agree with you, that the JV/agreement with TX is just a matter of time (not "if" but "when")

4. What is your opinion on other (big) company like SASOL, WBM etc ?
Are they competitor to RNTK ?

Thank's in advance for your reply !

Abi

Still hold my RNTK, and Wish I had more $$$ to invest.

PS :I hope this posting would be read by Rentech's CEO too !!

Excerpts from the report----

RNTK owns and licenses a patented and proprietary technology that converts gas-to-liquid including DIESEL FUEL, NAPTHAS, and WAXES.

3 other companies with proven commercial capabilities-Exxon, Shell, SASOL.

Iron catalyst used-PRIMARY REASON for RNTK's superiority---cheaper and more versatile (more application to various gases).

RNTK currently in talks with TEXACO.

HISTORY---TEXACO began the operation of a plant using THIS technology in 1950 and banned it for economic reasons in 1953. There were simply cheaper ways to get petrochemicals. NO LONGER A TRUE PREMISE.

APPLICATION of TECHNOLOGY-already noted by TM.
INDIA plant in Kumchai field will begin production by mid 1988.
-360 barrels/day of Fischer Tropsch Waxes
-$166/barrel, revenue of $21.8 million
Agreements for 2 additional plants to be constructed in India already signed.

OTHER HOLDINGS

-OKON-wholly owned subsidiary of RNTK-manufactures and distributes environmentally clean, water repellent sealers and stains for wood, concrete, and masonry.

-ITN/ES-limited liability company formed in conjunction with ITN
Energy Systems.
Has technology that deposits materials onto semiconductor wafers.
