The Isles got pushed around by the Blues yesterday afternoon. Without 3 of our top 4 defensemen, Hamonic, Boychuk and Visnovsky, we are no match for a top 6 or 7 team. The Blues are big and physical and Boychuk and Hamonic are our equivalent of Seabrook and Keith. Sure, we got out to a 3-0 lead, but the first period was fairly even, with the Isles converting a few rushes toward the end of the period. Our PK killed us. Visnovsky comes back against the Wild on Tuesday, but we desperately need our toughest defensemen against the top 6 teams. Interesting that the Hawks chose to keep Oduya over Leddy. Without Boychuk, Leddy does not look as effective. What's up with your Canadians? In a bit of a slump. Isles MVP up to this point is Boychuk and he's out.
