You are mentally challanged.

Read this very sloowwlly.

The Prices.... are for individuals.... trying to buy....
one PentiumII system..... direct from the company....
off of their website...

Now re-read it over and over and over. Then sleep on it.
Soon, by the end of the week, you might figure out that this has nothing to do with corporate bulk buying in 1000's.

re why would ibm, cpq and hp be getting all these large orders away from dell if their prices went up...

Steve, they did NOT get these large orders away from DELL. I repeat, the article was so written to make it seem like they did. The only order DELL had and lost was Delta. The others already belonged to others (CPQ, IBM, HP) and DELL was unsuccessful in taking them away.

It would be interesting to see the list of contracts which DELL has taken away from these three (and others). In fact, Delta was one which they took away, and HP successfully got back two years later.
Learn to read. (and spell, and some syntax wouldn't hurt <<ggg>>)
