Of course LNG imports to America would be scarce. Who would willingly import costly LNG into America where it has to be sold at a huge loss in order to compete with cheap domestic natural gas? Only someone locked into a contract they can't escape from by chewing off their leg.

I'm not sure of the most recent costs the LNG process itself adds, but I assume they're still not minimal.

At least matching crude supply with each refinery has a method to the madness. The Sydney refinery is optimized for super-light Malaysian crude. Singapore refineries are optimized to process high sulfur crude from Iran, Singapore never observing a boycott to the best of my knowledge, as well as crude from other Middle East producers as needed.
