wasn't there a guy last year, a well known Y2K guru, that stated that tools would never be able to convert more 25% to 30% of the code, and the rest would have to be done manually ? (hint: his initials are P.D.)

I guess it's good to know that you think we have bettered that mark by 50% <gg>

As far as I know, SEEC, PTUS, ALYD, VIAS, and CSGI all claim that they can convert more than 80% of the code automatically.

"I am involved in Y2K code assessment/remediation and have evaluated 1000's of situations encountered with code and short dates."

1. What tools have you used ?

2. Did these tools perform up to you expectations ? If they did not, then please list which ones fell short of you expectations and what those expectations were.

thank you.

Julius -

I am involved in Y2K code assessment/remediation and have evaluated 1000's of situations encountered with code and short dates. Believe me, full automation isn't going to happen. There is no magical fix.

An experienced voice from the trenches. Thank you!
