Thean
I just got off the phone with Mr. Charles Osner at RB. 3 new drill ships on order and the first will go on line the end of 98 in partnership with Conoce the other 2 will be in 99 one of which will be in partnership with Shell. They also have a new generation semi submersable due on line in Nov. 99. Rigs comming up for new contracts their 4th Generation Rig the Jack Bates is with Mobil and will go from $115,000 a day to $201,00 a day. One of their 3rd generation rigs with Mobil is going from $120,000 to $183,000 a day. Jack up rigs in the 3rd quarter are going from about $44,000 a day to $65-$75,000 a day on new contracts. Samsung is building the new rigs and cost is based on th USD so it won't affect the cost. Last but not least earnings are due out in mid Feb. however they may be delayed due to dotting all the I's and crossing the T's in regards to the merger

Thean: what's your TA say. Looks bad across the board for the drillers I follow. All closed below open or way off their highs. Not sure though.
