It has been hard in a way being an Isles fan since I dislike Nassau County immensely. But I got my wish. It is the NYC Isles, better yet, the Brooklyn Isles next year.

PS Dolan is no peach.

The more interesting question is the future fan base of the Isles. Nassau County is primarily Ranger country as most of the people there work in NYC and are attached to the Rags. Suffolk County (east of Nassau County) is the primary Islander fan base and just about everyone I speak to from Suffolk County tells me they will not renew their season tickets and only go to a few weekend games. From Suffolk County to Barclays center is a good two hour ride by train at least (LIRR).

Brooklyn residents are extremely loyal to their borough. I think it's excessive, but that's just my opinion. My speculation is that there will be a lot of walk up sales a couple of hours prior to the game. Many Brooklyn residents will switch their allegiances basically because that is how Brooklyn people operate.

Isles will require a new fan base and it should be interesting to see how it plays out. As for me, I got a 10 minute subway ride rather than a 40 mile drive which can take anywhere from 1 hour (on Weekends) to 1.5 hours (during the week).

Moreover, it will be a pleasure to get rid of all the patriotic BS. Every game is composed of America the Beautiful, God Bless America and countless introductions of our fascist military personnel.
