Paul - Novell must offer a small business product even if they must resell (or license) another product (ie. Netscape) under their name....

From InfoBeat "Internet Daily" (http://www.infobeat.com):

Small business is big on the Net

Small businesses are going online rapidly. Eighty-one percent are now accessing the Net, according to survey of subscribers to The Wall Street Journal. A majority use the Net for information and research, while slightly less than half also use it for marketing and advertising. The survey of small business executives chosen by the Journal found 72 percent of them agreeing communication technology is changing so rapidly they find it difficult to stay current.

It's all mindset with the new business user. Let them buy your product and then sell them new updated services and/or applications (JAVA running on the Novell JVM). I agree with you that this hole in the small business sector must be filled with 'some' product offering..."Novell lite" and it must happen NOW!!!!

IMO their new marketing program (see my post #19144 siliconinvestor.com does not
address this issue and it must occur inorder to to build future account growth.

The only "hope" Novell has from my observations is with the NOVONYX (web server) venture. It seems so obivious....why are they not doing this?

EKS (Waiting for some new from Novell on this issue....)
