Actually, I'm not completly out yet. I sold the shares that I held because I was begining to not sleep at night worring about covering another margin call. I did however have enough left to buy those $1 june calls. I think if VLNC does not make some major headway by june then any shares that I still had would be just about as worthless as the calls. I'm still hoping and watching and have put what's left of my money where my mouth is..

Sorry to hear that, based on the number of shares you had! Like I said in an earlier post, I sold off my valued NI Microcap fund to be in a cash position in my account. Now, not even the evil MMs can get to me! I will not margin again until VLNC has some OEM announcements and the stock is heading into the teens! (I too learned a leasson on what almost happened, and having to take a loss on my NI mutual fund shares.) I'm more pissed off at myself for not having more money to buy at these levels! I could almost double my money from here by the time the price gets back to my average cost ($7.5). Oh well.

Good luck to you, and remember the IRS 30 day wash rule. If you buy back before 30 days, you won't be able to write-off your tax losses.

(John, yes, there must have been a rush of margin calls at the end of the day cause this one dropped like a dead dog around 3:15pm. Goes from hanging in there around $4.75 and $5 to $4.25. I saw a lot of trades go by after hours at the bid, so the MMs must be calling everyone!) I thought that VLNC becomes unmarginable at $3.5, not $5 or under? Is it that everyone's total equity in their portfolio is falling below 50%? I know that a couple of my other small/micro cap holdings are also getting drilled! I never thought I could look forward to a new year like I do this year!

To the safety equipment dude - any news on the "wet run" trial? To anyone, hear anything else on production for Q1?

Good Luck..
