Absolutely, but can average household afford an SGI workstation?

Today, your average 2nd hand 175Mhz loaded Indy runs ~ $2k.

You'll spend more than that when you price a PC + the s/w to make yourself productive. Sure, Joe Blow doesn't have $20k to blow on a hot Octane, but then again, he probably doesn't really need that kind of performance anyway.

BTW : A new O200 starts around $11k. That's comparable with CPQ.
