"tore apart the Dem Party ...I think she would have the chance to do the same"

Yup; unless Hillary doesn't run. That changes everything.

I don't think McCarthy tore up the party, I think it was Humphrey that tore it up by using the dem establishment and mayor Daley to deny McCarthy the nomination. Had we just nominated McCarthy he might have won.

I don't remember the particulars though.

The Hippies stayed home because Humphrey used dishonest tactics to deny McCarthy the nomination.

In any event we had to get rid of LBJ. So a fight was necessary.

Bobby would have surly won and it would be a different world today.

We may need to go with Hillary as Jeb is such a threat. But we shall see what happens.

Charlie Cook says he only sees a 25/30% chance Hillary will win? If Hillary doesn't run then we will probably nominate Warren.

Warren sort of reminds me of Eugene McCarthy, whom I supported eons ago. Of course he lost, and tore apart the Dem Party at the famous Chicago Convention (I was there on the street for the police riot).

I think she would have the chance to do the same... but I'm not sure the electorate is as engaged as they were then.
