In the 70's to 80's I worked in mental health. I could tell by people's reactions getting on a bus or going about town performing my role that I would often be mistaken for being mentally ill. People were a little to careful and condescending in their interactions. The genuinely mentally ill people pick up on that too and play peoples emotions, which never goes well ... not unlike when left wingers cow tow to race baiters. Best to just treat people like human beings regardless of their differences.

I expected Obama to be the guy who could lead some race reconciliation during his term. I am disappointed that he decided to do the opposite.

As a white man, I've been mistaken for one.

Mistaken for what Bill? A white man?
