I had a similar discussion long before I posted on this thread. My point was then, and still is, that you either believe something is wrong or not. If you believe it is wrong, then it is wrong for all - no exceptions. So you can take a stand and say that you agree with raping someone or torturing their family in front of them if the ends justify it. And we will can have a talk about that. Or you can believe that it is wrong, and we can have a different talk. But what you cannot do is to say it is wrong, except when I feel it's ok. My point here has little to do with Cheney or the recent torture discussions (except as an example).
