It isn't sick, it is just being pragmatic. The oversight issues were real, but that was a product of the 9/11 attacks and CIA having to gear up quickly to deal with the problems.

On 9/11/01, there were more FBI Special Agents in NYC alone than there were CIA case officers worldwide. CIA simply did not have the personnel to deal with the problems. CIA wasn't interrogating people in "black sites" then -- they had, since the Clinton years, been using rendition on those occasions where harsh interrogations were necessary. Clinton had used rendition in at least 70 cases.

Which for some reason, you guys never want to talk about.
