Then does that mean they never have to cover? If that were true, then why do MMs switch from the offer to the bid and cover. And how did RMIL temporarily squeeze 'em before tanking.

If I understand you, you're saying that an MM can pick a random 4 letter BB stock and say I will short it and never, ever, have to cover. And of course, there are no legal/regulatory issues to consider?

I have a problem believing that. Please elaborate.
