We added $11 trillion in debt, because the Fed is giving Congress a big fat pass. If the Fed was a responsible organization, they wouldn't hide the mess with money printing and financial repression, which would force Congress to act. You couch everything in terms of blame against the GOP. The reality is both parties are totally f_cked and the Fed is an unelected 4th branch of government acting in unConstitutional ways, increasing the instability of our economy, and siphoning off trillions from the 99% to give to the 1%.
