More comments about torture:

The waterboarders the left wants pilloried as international war criminals were obviously trying to do as little as possible to the terrorists they had. They only used these "horrible" techniques on a handful. They were trying to coerce these guys to talk with as little "torture" as possible. If they had really been the monsters the left wants to depict them as they wouldn't used sleep deprivation, they'd have used testicle and finger deprivation. They'd have used hot irons and car batteries instead of a towel and water.

Looking at what torture usually is, these may have been the softest torturers in history.

Personally, the country had been attacked, thousands of people killed and the terrorists were publicly saying there would be more attacks. I think the Bush administration torturers should be given medals for tackling the challenge in as humane a way as they could. I would have done worse than they did.
