[20+ Metricom Patents]

John,

I am in the early stages of looking into a possible investment in MCOM. You asked:

<<Does anyone know ... if they [MCOM] own any patents that would give them an edge>>

I thought that was an interesting question, so I dug up the following list of 20+ patents that show Metricom as the "assignee."

patents.ibm.com

I'm hoping the list might generate some discussion while I review prior posts on this thread to get up to speed on this company. I have no opinion yet on how much of an edge, if any, these patents give MCOM.

Does anybody know what Paul Allen's track record is when he invests in a company? If he's in for the long haul, seems like his deep pockets couldn't hurt, given the capital expense of expanding geographic coverage.

Good Luck To Us All,

Bozo T. Clown

P.S. If the link doesn't work I think you can go to the IBM patent server at www.patents.ibm.com and do a search for "Metricom" in the assignee field to regenerate the list..
