The USPS is going broke............

I'm not surprised. Who cares? Amtrack is broke and broken, and still runs occasionally.....just like the mail.

Put those employees on Medicaid and screw their pensions.

I didn't spend their retirement money.

>> The USPS is going broke cuz idiots like you are making them fund unfunded mandates for the next 75 years. Nice job

And there you go. You are the guy claiming YOU "understand numbers", and you are utterly clueless.

The USPS situation does not involve "unfunded mandates" (that term applies to laws that require states to pay obligations created by federal law). What we were discussing is "unfunded liabilities," a totally different thing, unrelated concept. And you don't know the difference.

What you and other liberals do not understand is that unfunded liabilities are not amounts due 75 years from now. They are the present values of those amounts, and they are required to be funded NOW so that union workers won't find themselves in the spot those in Detroit have found themselves in.

It is accounting. Not complicated, but well above your head.

>> CBO and JCT estimate that, on balance

While you do not understand anything CBO or JCT has to say, it is interesting that you use them when [you think] it is convenient to do so. CBO has also stated they the ACA is so fucked up at this point they cannot determine WHAT the cost of the law will be. No idea. They have also stated that Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, and the interest on these programs has made our budget deficits "UNSUSTAINABLE."

I don't see you citing THAT remark.

You are stupid people. Can't do basic arithmetic. Let alone "science".
