Texas Instruments takes stake in UK firm
EDINBURGH, Dec 17 (Reuters) - Texas Instruments Inc has signed a product development agreement and taken a five percent equity holding in Scotland's Wolfson Microelectronics, Wolfson said on Wednesday.
Under the deal, Texas and Wolfson will contribute marketing and engineering resources with the American company providing manufacturing facilities. Wolfson is aiming to accelerate the expansion of its product catalogue.

Wolfson, which plans to float on the Nasdaq exchange next year, specialises in interface signal processing solutions for the communications and multimedia markets. It had been forecasting 1998 turnover of six million pounds before clinching the deal with Texas.
