CAR PC being developed by Intel is technology of the future

Well, the whole notion of a PC is technologically incorrect and I personally never liked the term. There are desktop computers, network computers, portable computers and personal communications devices but the term PC is TI and the sooner we lose it the better. CAR-PC? Gimme a break!

As for the idea itself, it's really a strange topic and it reminds me of this radio program out of Los Angeles which reviews new computer stuff. Every week was a new CD of some sort and I thought to myself for cyring out loud, can they not make the distinction between new technology and new content? I mean they were'nt even new programs per se, just new themes for interactive CDs.

The automobile is something of a mobile-home and can truly benefit from the use of a centralized computer for myriad tasks. The home computer will have every conceivable device connected to it and those devices will require only limited computing ability. The radio, stereo, television, toys, telephones and virtually everything else will be able to connect up to a sinlge box connected to the outside world. Sun Microsystems has it right with Java and nobody will be able to compete with Intel in terms of price/performance of large servers and high-powered multimedia processors for the home and road.
