Sometimes Paul hits the head on the nail.

I once saw a list of 20 profiteers from the Iraq war in which Barbara Feinstein was listed twice. Can't find it.

The 25 most vicious Iraq war profiteers.

Russia has two warm water naval ports.

1.) One naval base is located in in Poland, where they now need to obtain NATO and Polish approval for certain actions.

2.) The other naval base is located in Crimea (which had been part of Ukraine until this year). But Ukraine wouldn't also join NATO . . . uk.reuters.com

While Putin has done some stupid things, protecting Russia's naval base in Crimea is certainly easy to understand.

The Ukrainian parliament on Tuesday renounced Ukraine's "non-aligned" status with the aim of eventually joining NATO, angering Moscow which views the Western alliance's eastward expansion as a threat to its own security

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called Ukraine's renunciation of its neutral military and political status a "counterproductive" step that would only boost tensions around the crisis in the east.

Addressing deputies in Kiev before the vote, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin said the move underscored the country's determination to pivot towards Europe and the West. "This will lead to integration in the European and the Euro-Atlantic space," he said.

The amendment passed easily, receiving 303 votes, 77 more than the minimum required to pass into law.

Any accession to the Western military alliance is likely to take years, but a NATO spokesman in Brussels said: "Our door is open and Ukraine will become a member of NATO if it so requests and fulfils the standards and adheres to the necessary principles."

Smedley Butler said it better. Krugman is evidently unaware that the rich profit from war and the poor suffer.

War is a Racket

War and aggression did pay for 100K years and is neuro-cognitively ingrained in the brains of many men.How many boys by age 8 clearly know they want to be soldiers? By the way this is not true of women. They can be taught to some extent but it is not natural.A History of Warfare by John Keegan is a great book. By the way the far left in this country, controlled by white male double parasites have no problem with killing. Some of these men take on pseudonyms of my native American warrior forefathers
