Haeckel's biogenetic law was never part of Darwin's theory and was challenged even in his own lifetime.

As well it should have been. However, Darwin was a fan of Haeckel.



That such genetic traits do appear early on in any vertebrate fetal stage, all suggest left-over developmental stage from our earlier common biological past.

Funny, first you disown the theory, then you seek to keep it.
