This is not correct.

Hans Blix has stated that he believed there were WMDs. At no point did he claim there were not any, until after the war began and they weren't found.

It was much worse than that... Cheney outed an agent - the wife of an inspector who found and reported the administration was contriving evidence against Hussein to justify war - purely in retribution. The Plame affair, good old Scooter Libby... remember?

Needless to say, there were no weapons of mass destruction. It was a war purely of choice, the debt from which will be a curse to our grandchildren.
