We've been over this time and again. What matters is that Saddam needed to go, WMDs were thought to be the easiest case to make, and the Bush administration made a mistake by listening to the claim it was a "slam dunk". They should have just explained there were lots of good reasons, here they are, and gone with it. But the WMD argument was just too convenient.
