Barry - Re: "Will the 440BX chipset support current Pentium II's (233 to 300 MHz) with a 100MHz bus and slot 1, or will it strictly be for Deschutes and slot 2 ?"

I think the Deschutes has the proper clock multiplier ratios for a 100 MHz system bus - x3.5, x4, x4.5 and x5 (x5 may be for 66.7 MHz bus speeds, 333 MHz CPU speeds).

The existing Pentium II does not have the appropriate PLL clock multipliers. These are 1 to 2, 1 to 4, 2 to 7, and 2 to 9 for the 0.35 micron Pentium II. As you will note, these are suitable for clock multiples of a 66.7 MHz system bus and will produce 233, 266 and 300 MHz CPU clock frequencies.
